In Kewanee, the League of Women Voters is set to host a candidates forum on March 19, 2025, at City Hall. The event, featuring candidates from the Kewanee City Council, Wethersfield School Board, Black Hawk College Board, and Kewanee Township Trustee races, will start at 7 PM. Attendees and listeners can expect a structured format with opening and closing statements, as well as questions from the moderator and audience. Tune in via WKEI 1450 AM, 102.1 FM, or Facebook Live. The public is invited to participate by mailing questions to Carla Hillman, 408 S Tremont St., Kewanee, IL. The questions will be answered by all candidates unless the individual or individuals are specified. This submission must be signed by the questioner. “The League reserves the right to determine if a question is appropriate and to edit and combine questions.”
The forum follows a strict format. The candidates will make an opening statement, followed by questions from the LWV moderator and audience, and a closing statement. The candidates are invited to mingle with the audience afterward, and refreshments will be provided.
Noncompetitive races include: Kewanee Public Library Board, Kewanee Park District Commissioners, Kewanee School Board, Kewanee and Wethersfield Township Supervisor, Clerk, Road Commissioner, Assessor, Wethersfield Township Trustee, and the Regional Board of School Trustees.
