Unofficial Election Results are in For Henry County

The unofficial election results are in for Henry County. Voter turnout for the 2025 April 1st Consolidated Election is 19%, according to the Henry County Election Authority website. The Kewanee City Council is set to change as Adam Cernovich received the highest number of votes, followed by incumbent Tyrone Baker in second. Adam Cernovich had 1,109 votes, Tyrone Baker had 592, Steve Faber had 498, Obrey Blumenshine had 483, and Scott Withrow had 74 votes.  Incumbent Steve Faber said, “The people have spoken. I have always tried to be a voice for the people.”

Colona voters turned down the referendum to levy a tax for the Colona Fire Protection District for emergency rescue crews and equipment. Tim Rise will remain the Village Mayor of Annawan. Aaron Peer won 78% of the votes to win the Village President of Orion. Laura Burke: 391, Kaleena Conrad: 381, Brandy Ann Funke: 322, with the top three votes for the Galva School Board.

Andrew Verstraete very closely trailed the incumbents for the Wethersfield School Board. Paula Baker: 411, Stephen Newman: 428, Allyson Schiltz: 399, Angela Ryan: 403, and Andrew Verstraete: 370 votes. The tabulated votes at 8:30 had Jon Looney in fourth place for Black Hawk College Trustee in HENRY County, but at 11 PM, Jon Looney led the race with 44% of the votes. Douglas Strand: 2,287, Mark Carlson: 2,778, Jon Looney: 2,970, and Dougal Nelson: 1,831 votes.

Brian Johnson won for Mayor of Colona with 55% of the votes. Colona Alderpersons: Ward 1 is Amanda Stablein, Ward 2 is Sarah Lack, Ward 3 is Melanie Hergert, and Ward 4 was uncontested. For Galva Ward 3, M. Douglas Anderson leads with 47% of the votes.
