Local Boy Scout Quentin Bloome from Troop 180 is undertaking a significant Eagle Scout Project. He’s organizing an event dedicated to preparing Missing Child Packets. This will take place at the First United Methodist Church in Kewanee on Saturday, April 12th, from 11 AM to 4 PM. Families are encouraged to participate, ensuring detailed information and fingerprints are readily available should the unthinkable occur. These packets aim to expedite police searches in case a child goes missing. The church, located at 108 E Central Blvd, will have clear signage marking the entrance. Spread the word to help bolster community safety. Obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout is considered a significant achievement because only about 6% of Scouts in Scouting America (formerly known as Boy Scouts) earn the rank, which is over 2 million Eagle Scouts since 1912. An Eagle Scout can receive an advanced ranking of an E-2 in the Army and Air Force and an E-3 in the Navy and Marines following basic training.
