The upcoming Kewanee Cinco de Mayo Festival promises a vibrant celebration of Mexican heritage. On May 3, 2025, from noon to 5 PM,  attendees can explore a range of activities from the Children’s Entrepreneurs Market to crafts hosted by local high school clubs. Delight in authentic Mexican cuisine from diverse vendors and enjoy live music, face painting, and a mobile reptile petting zoo. Support is crucial, with opportunities to sponsor or donate. Participate in the Taco Fundraiser with Azteca De Oro Food Truck on April 12th or grab a Cinco de Mayo T-shirt later this month. Vendor applications and children entrepreneurs are welcome until April 18th. The vendor fee is $40, and the children entrepreneurs are free.

Follow the festival’s Facebook page for more updates and a chance to win a $40 gas card. To be entered for the gas card giveaway, like their Facebook page, tag three friends on one of their posts, and share. The drawing is on Saturday, April 19th.

You can support the Kewanee Conco De Maho Festival by being a sponsor or making a donation. E-mail [email protected] for more information.

“We would like to take the opportunity to thank the few sponsors we currently have: DJ Torres, Daily Fix Nutrition, TimeOut, Andrew Gray Photography, Kinsella Porta Potties LLC, SK Contreras, Mi Rancho, and Moore Tires. Their support is greatly appreciated!”

The Azteca Food Truck is hosting a fundraiser in Kewanee on April 12, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM. Enjoy three tacos for twelve dollars, with options of beef, chicken, pork, or steak. The event takes place at the Daily Fix Parking Lot on South Tremont Street. Even better, part of the sales will benefit the upcoming Kewanee Cinco De Mayo Festival. To support this cultural celebration, pre-order tacos by calling 773-542-8389, or simply stop by on the day of the event. Enjoy great food and contribute to a festive cause.

Join the planning committee meeting on April 13, 2025, from 6 to 7 PM, at Kewanee City Hall
