Illinois Valley Community College’s psychology instructor, Vince Brolley, has earned statewide honors as Instructor of the Year from the Illinois Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships. With over 25 years of service, Brolley plays an essential role in IVCC’s dual credit program, teaching not only at the college but also in five area high schools. His dedication helps high school students earn college credits, fostering academic advancement and smoother transitions into higher education. Colleagues and students alike commend Brolley for his commitment, making this award a testament to his enduring impact on education in the region.

In acknowledging the honor, Brolley said to be singled out for what he enjoys doing “is like getting praised for eating ice cream.”

“Trying to relate can be a challenge, but I keep trying to come up with experiences to relate to the concepts that work for them so they can make a connection – and that can lead to incredible discussions. I do not just give them a formal, cold definition,” he said.

General registration for next fall is underway. To learn more about dual credit or dual enrollment, contact the IVCC Dual Credit and Enrollment office at [email protected] or visit ivcc.edu/dualcredit.
