The Vasa National Archive in Bishop Hill is set to host a unique Finnish Field Day, offering a range of family-friendly activities at 109 South Bishop Hill Street. Attendees can try their skills for $10 each in hobby horse events, including jumps, dressage, polo, and races, with craft stations available for creative fun. The event invites participation from all ages and aims to celebrate Finnish heritage through interactive play. Sponsorship is provided by McConnell Heating and Cooling, helping ensure this free event is accessible to the whole community. Organizers encourage residents and visitors to join in on the festivities.

The event title comes from Finland hosting the international hobby horse competition for over 12 years. In 2017, Selma Vilhunen’s 2017 film “Keppihevosten vallankumous (Hobby Horse Revolution)” introduced hobby horse competitions to the world.
