Hosted by Tamera Stoner and Jeanette Gibson, Kewanee’s Pride Picnic kicks off Saturday , July 5th, at the Chief Senachwine Shelter in Johnson’s Sauk Trail State Park, inviting everyone to join in a celebration of equality and community. From 5 to 9 PM, organizers encourage participants to wear their brightest pride gear, get their faces painted, or snap a memory at the photo op area. Activities include games such as cornhole, ladder ball, and volleyball, as well as the crowning of Rainbow Royalty. Guests are asked to contribute a dish or supplies, with meat provided. The location offers lake drives and trails and is fully wheelchair accessible. Don’t skip Ryan’s Round Barn, which is open from 1 to 4 PM. Park doors close at 10 PM unless you’re camping. Happy Pride to all!
