During the recent city meeting, Sarah Bambas of the Bi-State Regional Commission shared insights before council members advanced several key resolutions. One measure, Bill 25-61, voices the city’s support for the Illinois America250 Commemoration. Bill 25-62 brings a new lease agreement with BD Pyxis, enabling the Kewanee Fire Department to receive updated security and asset-tracking technology. The council also approved Bill 25-63, authorizing the city manager to partner with engineering firm CMT. This collaboration will focus on vital water infrastructure through the Source Water Improvement Project, including a service line scale analysis and a study targeting copper pitting concerns.
