“Operation River Run” Sweep Arrested 52 Fugitives in Iowa and Illinois

A coordinated operation across Iowa and Illinois has led to the arrest of 52 fugitives in a sweep targeting serious offenders. “Operation River Run,” spanning May 19th through June 20th, brought together U.S. Marshals from Iowa and Illinois with local law enforcement agencies. Those apprehended face charges that include homicide, gun violations, sexual offenses, and other violent crimes. The operation unfolded in three phases, focusing first on warrant selection, followed by active enforcement, and concluding with tracking and arresting additional suspects. Most arrests occurred in Scott County, Iowa, and Rock Island County, Illinois, with some extending to Sioux City and Chicago.

The achievements of Operation River Run highlight our shared dedication to collaboration among all professionals in the Southern District of Iowa.”

The Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force- Davenport Division is composed of the following federal, state and local agencies: U.S. Marshals Service, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, Burlington Police Department, Fort Madison Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Ottumwa Police Department, Iowa Department of Corrections Fugitive Team, Coralville Police Department, and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations
