More than 50 sandwiches and 100 juice boxes found their way into the hands of local children in Kewanee, thanks to an event held on July 4th. Organized by Josh Carpenter with K9 Maverick, TRES CAFE “Kewanee,” Lisa Fornander, and Operation Juice Box, the group started at Windmont Park before making stops throughout the community. The initiative was made possible through generous donations and ongoing support from residents, helping ensure children had a nutritious treat on the holiday. Organizers expressed gratitude for the continued contributions that allow community outreach programs like this to thrive, highlighting the power of local collaboration. If you want to donate towards Operation Juice Box, contact Officer Josh Carpenter or drop off a donation to the Kewanee Police Department.
Officer Josh Carpenter from the Kewanee Police Department said, “Shout to Operation Juice Box as well! We started at Windmont park, and then bounced around to children around Kewanee! Thanks to everyone’s donations, and continued juice donation we are able to do community contacts like these! Thank you everyone!!”
