The University of Illinois Extension has announced new options for its online Master Gardener training. Prospective participants can choose between fully self-paced or hybrid formats, making it easier to fit learning into their schedules. Enrollment for the program is open from July 1st to August 18th, while classes officially start on September 15th. The fourteen-week course costs $300 and prepares volunteers to help with community projects and educational outreach throughout Illinois. The program aims to empower more people to support local gardens, schools, and public spaces while expanding their horticultural knowledge and skills. Registration details are available on the Extension’s website.

“Our online training is a great opportunity for people who need more flexibility to participate,” said State Master Gardener Specialist Candice Anderson. “Both options have self-paced components that can be great for busy schedules.”
