If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

Kewanee City Council Meeting Review from July 14, 2025

Several key ordinances and resolutions were addressed in the latest Kewanee City Council session. Council members approved a Tax Increment Financing redevelopment agreement between the city and KTown Real Estate, aiming to boost local investment. Meanwhile, the demolition contract for 500 Fifth Ave was awarded to the lowest bidder, moving forward with city revitalization efforts. In addition, city officials were authorized to convey certain real estate interests and easements to the Illinois Department of Transportation for planned highway projects. The council also approved compliance measures at the city’s solid waste transfer station and announced intentions to purchase the mortgage note for Kewanee Mobile Home Parks from First Secure Community Bank.
