Residents exploring Kewanee’s parks will now discover new “lending libraries” at several locations, including Windmont, Chautauqua, Liberty, and Northeast Parks, as well as outside the 19th Hole Restaurant and near the entrance at Baker Park. These small, freely accessible boxes invite visitors to borrow or share books during their visit to the park. This initiative, a result of collaboration between the Kewanee Public Library District and the Friends of the Library, aims to foster community engagement and encourage reading for all ages. Organizers hope the project will promote literacy while bringing neighbors together in green spaces across the city.
“Thank you to the Kewanee Public Library District and the friends of the library for this collaboration to benefit our community!”
