Three pillars of Illinois Valley Community College’s theater program have established a new scholarship for aspiring performers and technical crew. The Zellmer-Kuester-Brokaw Theatre Scholarship will provide up to $1,000 annually to students dedicated to theater arts. The founders contributed over $5,000 as the scholarship’s initial funding, aiming to nurture talent on and off the stage. The fund honors years of leadership and service by these theater advocates, ensuring their legacy supports future generations. Applications will be open to students demonstrating passion and commitment in performance or technical theater, helping to advance local talent.

“We have seen the positive changes in students when they are involved in theater productions, and through this scholarship, we want to continue those positive changes beyond our tenure,” Kuester said in a statement.

IVCC Theater veterans Don Grant Zellmer, Dr. David Kuester, and Chad Brokaw present a $1,000 scholarship to College President Dr. Tracy Morris to assist theater students.
