The countdown to the 2025 Kewanee Hog Days has begun, with just four days remaining until the festivities kick off. The first official event will be held on Wednesday, August 27th, at 6 pm on the Black Hawk College East Campus. This longstanding tradition, dating back to 1947, sets the stage for competitors vying to be named the year’s “top hog.” As the community gears up for the 72nd annual celebration, anticipation is building for a week filled with contests, entertainment, and local pride. All eyes are on the contenders as the race for the coveted title gets underway.

Attendees are welcome to check out the event at no cost, with free admission for all. Exhibitors need to complete check-in between 3:30 and 4:30 pm, while the competition begins at 6. Organizers say the annual show provides a unique opportunity for young producers to display their skills and quality livestock in a supportive, community atmosphere.
