More than $58,000 will be distributed to support these recipients as they attend accredited institutions across the state. Since its inception in 1979, the program has recognized and encouraged not only academic excellence but also extracurricular participation and strong character. The Association notes that these scholarships aim to invest in the futures of young Illinoisans, highlighting the important role that education and community commitment play in shaping tomorrow’s leaders. Recipients represent a wide range of communities from across Illinois.

“These scholarships are not only an investment in the education of these young men and women but also a tribute to the sacrifices made by Illinois’ law enforcement and military families,” said Jim Kaitschuk, Executive Director of the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association. “We are proud to stand alongside the Peacekeepers in this effort, as it reinforces our shared commitment to developing strong, service-minded leaders. By supporting these students, we are helping to build brighter futures, not only for them as individuals but for the communities they will one day serve. This program exemplifies the positive impact we can achieve when we invest in the next generation.”
