Young anglers in Carthage will have the chance to cast their lines at the upcoming “Kids Fish for Fun” event, hosted by Memorial Hospital on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Set at Hartzell Lake from 1 to 3 PM, the gathering aims to connect families with the outdoors. The first 50 kids—ages 15 and under—will receive complimentary fishing poles and stringers. Participants can take home their catch, thanks to an on-site fillet station. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and while gear is available for early arrivals, bringing personal equipment is encouraged. Adult assistants are reminded to have a valid fishing license.

Families can pre-register for the event at MHTLC.ORG.
