Kewanee’s first cannabis dispensary is nearing completion, with staff completing the final touches before scheduling their final inspection. A recent tour revealed a facility built with security in mind: every window features shatterproof coating, and 69 cameras, both indoors and out, cover all angles, each backed up by two others for triple redundancy. Owner Chad Anderson noted that although summer was the original target, construction delays pushed back their timeline. The dispensary now awaits only the final inspection before welcoming customers. With new legislation in Illinois, cannabis dispensaries can accept cash or debit cards for payment.
