The Galva Water Department will conduct fire hydrant flushing across the city from October 7th through October 17th. Crews will begin in the southeast and southwest areas, moving on to the northwest and northeast quadrants later in the process. During this period, residents could notice rusty or discolored water in any neighborhood. The water department advises everyone to let their cold water run until it’s clear before washing laundry to avoid staining clothes and to avoid drawing rust into the water heater. This annual maintenance helps ensure a reliable water supply and proper hydrant function throughout the city.
