More than 500 community members turned out to honor Memorial Hospital’s 75th anniversary in Carthage, Illinois. The hospital, a cornerstone of Hancock County since 1950, hosted a two-day celebration filled with live performances, a flag ceremony, and local vendor booths. Children enjoyed special activities designed just for them, while the highlight of the festivities was a Water Lantern Festival. That event not only provided a stunning visual display but also raised over $700. Memorial Hospital’s legacy as a center of care and community support was on full display, celebrating decades of dedicated service.

The program featured a moving performance from the community choir under the direction of Brad Culpepper, Director of Hospitality at the hospital. In a touching tribute, local veterans presented the prestigious Hancock County Honor Guard medallion to Memorial Hospital CEO Ada Bair, recognizing her dedication. Mayor Gary Smith followed with a special proclamation honoring the hospital’s longstanding service to the region.

“Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and attended,” said Ada Bair, CEO at Memorial Hospital. “Your support made this milestone celebration truly special and helped us to celebrate our theme, ‘Honoring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future.’” To learn more about Memorial Hospital’s 75th anniversary celebration, visit MHTLC.ORG.
