Prophetstown Man Arrested on Multiple Charges for Child Abuse of 12-Year-Old

A Prophetstown man faces multiple serious charges after Illinois State Police arrested 55-year-old Earl D. Chinn Sr. in connection with the alleged abuse of a 12-year-old child. The investigation began when a concerned citizen noticed the child had visible facial injuries and contacted local police. Further inquiry revealed the child also suffered a previously unreported broken arm. The Whiteside County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges, including aggravated battery to a child and aggravated domestic battery. Chinn Sr. was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Whiteside County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.

Earl Chinn Sr. is charged with Aggravated Battery to a Child with Great Bodily Harm Under the age of 13 (Class X), Aggravated Domestic Battery (Class 2), Aggravated Battery of a Child (Class 3), and Domestic Battery (Class A).
