The annual Fill the Boot drive in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association started on Friday, October 10th, at 4:30 PM. Volunteers will be stationed at Tenney and McClure, as well as Main and 3rd. Community members are encouraged to drive by and drop donations into firefighter boots, helping fund research and support for individuals affected by muscular dystrophy.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association and the International Association of Fire Fighters are marking a remarkable milestone—70 years of partnership through the Fill the Boot campaign. Since its inception in 1954, this community-driven initiative has generated more than $700 million for research, care, and advocacy supporting those affected by neuromuscular diseases. The ongoing dedication of hundreds of thousands of firefighters across the nation has made the IAFF the MDA’s top fundraising partner.
