Participants should meet at Lock 22 at 1:30 p.m. for a shuttle ride to the starting point. There is no fee, and all are welcome regardless of membership status. The Friends of the Hennepin Canal are inviting the public to their annual membership meeting and Oktoberfest celebration at the Hennepin Canal Visitor Center in Sheffield. Attendees can enjoy a festive spread featuring brats and hot dogs, along with a variety of engaging activities designed for all ages. The event serves as an opportunity to learn about the ongoing preservation efforts of the historic canal. Organizers encourage anyone interested in supporting these efforts to consider joining as a new member during the festivities. Doors are open to all who wish to participate in this community gathering.
