Savanna, IL – House Republican Leader Tony McCombie officially filed her nomination petitions today to run for re-election in the 89th House District, submitting more than three times the required number, a clear reflection of the strong grassroots support and momentum behind her campaign.
“I am grateful for the incredible support across the 89th District from volunteers, community leaders, and Republicans who are tired of the reckless policies coming out of Springfield,” said McCombie. “In the 89th and across Illinois, we’re building momentum to fight for lower taxes, safer communities, and more accountability in state government.”
Elected House Republican Leader in January 2023, McCombie has led the fight in Springfield to push back against the failed policies of Illinois Democrats. Under her leadership, House Republicans have been unified in their efforts to make Illinois more affordable, protect public safety, and restore fiscal responsibility.
“Illinois Democrats have put our state on a dangerous path, putting criminals over working families, and spending without restraint, which leads to higher taxes and fewer opportunities for working families,” McCombie said. “House Republicans are fighting every day to restore balance, common sense, and integrity to state government.”
As she seeks another term, McCombie remains focused on bringing responsible leadership and local values to Springfield, working to ensure Illinois is a place where families can afford to live, communities are safe, and small businesses can thrive.
