Illinois Launches Home Repair Grants to Help Hundreds of Homeowners in Need

Illinois homeowners struggling with urgent repairs will soon find relief, as the Illinois Housing Development Authority announces $15 million in grants distributed to 34 organizations across 28 counties. This funding, part of the Home Repair and Accessibility Program, aims to assist eligible households with up to $50,000 each for essential repairs and accessibility upgrades. Approximately 400 homes are expected to benefit statewide, improving living conditions for residents facing safety or health hazards and making homes more accessible for individuals with disabilities. Organizations are preparing to launch outreach initiatives to identify qualifying households in the weeks ahead.

Rebuilding Together Henry County received $360,000, the City of Galesburg received $600,000, the City of Moline received $500,000, the City of Rock Island received $500,000, the City of Peoria received $500,000, the City of Monmouth received $400,000, and the City of Macomb received $400,000.
