    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Kongero Swedish Folk Ensemble Performs Live in Bishop Hill on December 6, 2025

Internationally acclaimed Swedish vocal ensemble Kongero will perform a rare Midwest concert on Saturday, December 6th, at Bishop Hill Creative Commons in Bishop Hill. Known for their masterful blend of traditional Swedish folk music and contemporary a cappella, or “Folk’appella,” Kongero has toured the globe and released six albums. The evening starts with a community potluck at 6 PM, followed by the concert at 7 PM. Admission is open to all ages with a suggested donation of $20–30. Known for blending centuries-old Scandinavian folk tunes with contemporary harmonies, the quartet delivers concerts that swirl with rhythmic energy and vocal brilliance. Since forming in 2005, Kongero has captivated listeners worldwide, performing at major global festivals and releasing six albums, including the live favorite Live in Longueuil. Prior to their performance, Kongero invites music enthusiasts to a free vocal workshop at 2 PM in the Dairy Building. Participants will experience traditional Swedish vocal techniques and harmonious storytelling firsthand from these acclaimed artists.

Composed of Lotta Andersson, Emma Björling, Sofia Hultqvist Kott, and Anna Wikénius, the group is noted for transforming centuries-old folk melodies into vibrant, contemporary performances.
