Kewanee Residents Urged to Follow Parking Rules and Clear Hydrants During Heavy Snowfall

With heavy snowfall expected this weekend, Kewanee officials are urging residents to follow parking regulations to help keep streets clear. Parking is prohibited on city streets for 12 hours after snowfalls of three inches or more, or until plows have finished their work—whichever comes first. Vehicles left in violation may be towed at the owner’s expense. Officials emphasize the challenges for those without off-street parking and ask everyone to find alternative options if possible. Residents are also asked to clear paths to nearby fire hydrants, aiding first responders. Drivers are reminded to stay cautious and give snowplows ample room to operate safely.
