Robbie Neirynck Keeps Family Legacy Alive with Two New Displays in Windmont Park

Robbie Neirynck carries on the Neirynck Legacy with the Windmont Park Lighting. Artist Robbie Neirynck visited the Windmont Park shelter house to guide the installation of dazzling new light displays he crafted. After the passing of Grandpa Bob—Robbie’s mentor—local artist and School Resource Officer Tim Bryner stepped in, bringing his quick-draw skills to the project.  Tim did the drawing and Robbie did the welding. Their creative partnership has produced favorites like “Switch,” “Olaf,” and topped the 17-foot T-Rex, “Robbie,” with a festive new Christmas hat. Robbie learned metalworking young, thanks to Grandpa’s lessons, though Grandma Alice didn’t appreciate his early encounter with flash burn. Their handiwork continues lighting up the community each year.

Lighting of Windmont and Northeast Parks is Sunday, December 7th, after the lighted parade and fireworks display. The parade begins at 5 PM on West McClure by D’Luxe Car Wash. Before the parade, visit the Holly Jolly Festival at Wethersfield School from 2 to 4 PM.
