Connie Johnson joined Wake Up Tri-Counties for the monthly edition of “Cambridge Happening” to talk about closures for the Village Office for Christmas and New Year, the trash and recycling schedule, and the Cambridge Fire and Ambulance Department’s fundraiser. Cambridge residents are reminded that the village office will be closed December 24th and 25th, as well as December 31st and January 1st, for the holiday season. Trash and recycling will operate on normal schedules through both holiday weeks. The Cambridge Fire and Ambulance Department is hosting Rock and Roll Bingo on Saturday, January 10th, at the fire station. For information or reservations, contact Amy at 309-314-6328. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season.

Residents in the Village of Cambridge are being notified of an upcoming change to the water billing system set to take effect in February. The village will be switching to an entirely new version of the billing software, with village clerk Sarah dedicating extra time to learn the updated system. Due to the volume of accounts and potential for initial errors, anyone noticing discrepancies on their February water bill is urged to contact the village office promptly. The transition aims to be as seamless as possible, and staff are ready to address any issues to ensure accurate billing for everyone.

The Cambridge Fire and Cambridge Ambulance Departments are teaming up for a lively Music Bingo night on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at the Cambridge Fire Station, 303 South East Road. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with Bingo kicking off at 6:30. All ages are invited to enjoy a night filled with fun, raffle prizes, and a silent auction. Big Money raffles with prizes up to $1,000 will be held during the event. Tables for eight are available for reservation until noon on January 8th. Participants can bring their own snacks and beverages. To register or for more details, contact Amy Moskowitz at 309-314-6328.
