The Colona Police Department is investigating social media reports regarding a series of loud explosions near 5th and 6th Streets. Police are urging anyone with video footage or other evidence to assist their investigation by submitting information to [email protected]. Authorities emphasize that social media posts alone are not enough, and timely, direct communication is vital for building official reports and proceeding with investigative work. The Colona Police said, “We take this matter very seriously and recognize the concerning and disruptive nature of such activity. The peace, safety, and well-being of our residents remain our top priority.” Residents are encouraged to immediately contact Colona Police if incidents occur. Anyone with information can call 911 for emergencies or 309-937-3911 for dispatch. Officials stress that maintaining community safety is their top priority as the search continues for those responsible.

The Colona Police Department has a message to those responsible: “To the individual(s) responsible for this activity: this behavior must cease immediately to prevent further escalation and enforcement action.”
