    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Wataga Woman Arrested in Knox County Assault and Home Invasion Investigation

A 75-year-old woman from Wataga was arrested after an assault at a Knox County residence on January 3rd. Deputies responded to a medical alert, discovering a male resident with injuries. Following an investigation at the scene, Elizabeth G. Meminger was identified as the suspect. Authorities charged her with aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, and home invasion. Meminger was taken to the Knox County Jail for processing. Law enforcement officials remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation into the incident continues.
