    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Schuyler County Sheriff Bill Redshaw has released the weekly activity report for January 5th, through January 12th. Incidents include several accidents involving deer on local roadways, with vehicles struck on Routes 101, 99, and 67. Multiple citations for speeding were issued, with the highest clocked at 80 miles per hour in a 55 zone. Arrests included charges of domestic battery, DUI with open container, and several failure to appear warrants served. The Sheriff’s office also assisted other agencies five times and logged over 2,700 miles patrolled. All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
