The Henry and Stark County Health Departments, along with First Choice Healthcare, are launching their “12 Communities, 12 Months” initiative for 2026. The outreach begins in Alpha, with a special event scheduled for January 26 at the Alwood Pharmacy from 1:30 to 3 PM. Residents can take advantage of free blood pressure checks, home sharps collection, and safe medication disposal. Alongside these services, attendees will find health information and giveaways. This monthly outreach aims to connect residents across Henry and Stark counties with important health resources and clinic services throughout the year. For details about specific events and how to get involved, call 309-852-0197, visit the department website at www.henrystarkhealth.com, or follow their updates on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram through the official Henry and Stark County Health Departments pages.

RaeAnn Tucker, Director of Health Promotion with the Henry and Stark County Health Departments, said, “This is really a great ‘grass roots, boots on the ground’ health awareness and promotion activity for our staff.  We really want to remind our local residents about the vast array of services available through our offices and clinic locations in Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon.”

Tucker adds, “We believe this is going to be a wonderful event as there will be something for everyone interested in getting some great information, taking advantage of free giveaways, promotions, maybe some health screenings, and just partaking in a pleasant time visiting and talking with our staff.  The Department and First Choice Healthcare is happy to have this year-long opportunity to showcase the many programs and services available to our area residents and families.”
