The Horse and Hippology Club is inviting youth from Bureau, LaSalle, and Marshall-Putnam Counties to explore the world of horses and equine science. Open to ages 8 to 18, the club offers both junior and senior divisions, with no requirement to own a horse or be a current 4-H member. For a $20 fee, participants can join activities like the Horse Bowl quiz competition, the hands-on Hippology Contest, and the Horse Speaking Contest, aimed at building public speaking skills. Interested families can reach out to Coach Kathryn Erjavsek at 815-307-0711 or Coach Beth Acuncius at 309-824-5546.

“Participants may take part in several competitions. Horse bowl is a quiz-style competition similar to Scholastic Bowl that tests equine-related knowledge and is open to all youth. The Hippology Contest focuses on equine science and practical horse knowledge and is also open to all youth. The Horse Speaking Contest helps youth develop public speaking skills by presenting on horse-related topics and the 4-H Horse Project.”
