The Henry and Stark County Health Departments, together with First Choice Healthcare Clinics, are set to host a special community outreach at the Kewanee YMCA on Friday, February 27th, from 9 to 11 AM. Attendees can safely dispose of expired or unused medications, receive free blood pressure checks, and enjoy giveaways and health resources. The event also features an insurance navigator to assist with Get Covered Illinois. This forms part of their “12 Communities, 12 Months” initiative, aiming to connect Henry and Stark County residents with vital health services and information. Details on medication and sharps disposal are available on the Health Department’s website.

RaeAnn Tucker, Director of Health Promotion with the Health Department, said, “We believe this is going to be a wonderful event as there will be something for everyone interested in getting some great information, taking advantage of free giveaways, promotions, and just partaking in a pleasant time visiting and talking with our staff.  The Department and First Choice Healthcare are happy to have this year-long opportunity to showcase the many programs and services available to our area residents and families.”

The Henry and Stark County Health Departments are launching the “12 Communities, 12 Months” initiative, highlighting a variety of health promotions and events throughout the year.
