At a recent Kewanee City Council meeting, the Emergency Department at OSF Healthcare Saint Luke Medical Center received a Lifesaver Award from Kewanee Firefighters Local 513, honoring the team’s swift action that saved three lives after cardiac arrest. Moving tributes came from those directly impacted, highlighting the crucial work performed every day. Tenille Wrobleski, director of Emergency Services, noted the ongoing dedication of staff—emphasizing that it’s not just in dramatic rescues but also in the daily compassion, care, and kindness offered to all patients and families. The community expressed deep gratitude and recognition for the enduring commitment of the ED team.
“Working in the ED can sometimes feel thankless, and often you may never fully see the impact you have on the lives of those you care for. I hope this moment serves as a reminder of just how meaningful your work truly is. And it’s not only the lifesaving moments that matter. It’s the everyday kindness you show, the people you feed, the pain you treat, and the comfort you bring to patients and families during some of their most difficult moments,” said Tenille Wrobleski, director of Emergency Services.
