State Senator Andrew Chesney (R-Freeport) will host a meeting of his Youth Advisory Council on Tuesday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Highland Community College in Freeport.
Chesney’s Youth Advisory Council brings together students from across the 45th District to learn more about state government, hear from guest speakers, and work together to develop their own legislative proposals addressing issues impacting their communities.
“I’m excited to bring students together for this Youth Advisory Council and give them a firsthand look at how the legislative process works,” Senator Chesney said. “Getting young people involved in civic life early is incredibly important, and this program gives them the chance to hear from leaders in our community and start engaging with the issues that will shape their future.”
