Knox County Authorities Arrest Two in Wataga Burglary and Firearms Investigation

Authorities in Knox County executed a search warrant at a Wataga residence on March 26, 2026, leading to the arrest of two suspects linked to a series of regional burglaries. Investigators linked a string of thefts and recovered stolen property, including firearms. Jadin R. White, 33, faces charges such as felon in possession of a firearm, theft, and FOID violations. Jesse D. Line, 34, is charged with multiple firearm offenses, burglary, theft, and has outstanding warrants in two counties. Officials report additional charges are anticipated as the investigation continues, and more stolen items may be identified. The Sheriff’s Office credits teamwork with other local agencies for the progress.

“This investigation was the result of coordinated efforts between patrol deputies and investigators, successfully linking suspect activity, stolen property, and evidence across multiple reported incidents throughout the county.”

Jadin R. White is charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Theft, and a FOID Violation. White was released, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 5th.

Jesse D. Line is charged with Burglary, Theft, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (3 counts), Unlawful Sale of a Firearm (2 counts), Possession of a Firearm without FOID (3 counts), FOID Violation– Ammunition. Line also has warrants out of Rock Island County, Illinois, and Scott County, Iowa. Line will remain detained in the Knox County Jail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 14th.
