The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has concluded an extensive investigation into a series of property damage incidents involving juveniles throwing rocks and bricks at homes and vehicles. The damage, spanning Knoxville, Galesburg, and Warren County, resulted in numerous broken windows and significant property loss throughout 2024 and 2025. Detectives discovered a consistent pattern targeting multiple neighborhoods, leading to charges against several individuals for criminal damage to property and related crimes. Due to Illinois juvenile confidentiality laws, authorities are withholding names. Sheriff Harlan emphasizes zero tolerance for such actions and reinforces his commitment to community safety and holding offenders accountable.
“Sheriff Harlan wants to make it clear that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. The Sheriff remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of our communities and will continue to take all necessary steps to protect residents and hold offenders accountable.”
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
