On March 28th, twenty-five emergency responders and volunteers from multiple Illinois counties completed the Large Animal Rescue Operations Course through the Illinois Fire Service Institute. This specialized training equipped participants with critical animal rescue techniques and safety procedures, enhancing their ability to respond to emergencies involving livestock. The program emphasized scenarios such as farm accidents and severe weather events, aiming to better protect both animals and handlers. Organizers highlight the importance of such training in agricultural regions, where swift and knowledgeable response can make a significant difference during emergencies. The newly certified responders are expected to serve their communities with improved expertise.
