Illinois Extension is inviting residents to Preserve the Season with hands-on workshops this April, led by health and community wellness educator Susan Glassman. Participants will explore the essentials of food preservation, focusing on safety and the proper handling of fresh produce. Each session features take-home resources, new recipes, and a chance to make your own refrigerator pickles on-site. The classes take place on April 14th in Sheffield and on April 23rd in Ottawa. Early accommodation requests are encouraged for those with specific needs. Extension aims to empower communities in food safety and well-being statewide.
