The Henry County Sheriff’s Office adds a chocolate lab to the K9 program

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office introduces Roman, their newest K9 team member. Roman, a chocolate Labrador, is specially trained in narcotics detection and tracking while also serving a unique role as a therapy dog. Beyond law enforcement responsibilities, Roman will provide comfort during court proceedings, assist during critical incidents, and offer emotional support for employees and first responders. Deputy Patrick Blume, an 11-year veteran of the department, will serve as Roman’s handler. The K9 Program, supervised by Sergeant Dakota Copeland and partner Diego, continues to expand with support from the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office said, “We would like to thank Henry County State’s Attorney Cathy Runty for her continued support of our K9 Program and our communities.”
