The Illinois Valley Community College Foundation marked its 50th anniversary with a celebratory dinner and auction on March 27. Attendees heard inspiring words from student keynote speaker Laquan Coleman, who highlighted the crucial role of the foundation’s support in helping students pursue their academic goals. Founded in 1976 with a $100,000 bequest from retired teacher Helen Taylor, the Foundation has driven fundraising and innovative educational programs for nearly five decades.
