National Infant Immunization Week is being observed from April 20th through the 27th, as highlighted by the Henry and Stark County Health Departments alongside their First Choice Healthcare Clinics. The week serves to emphasize the importance of vaccinating children under two against preventable diseases. Health officials point out that vaccination efforts in the U.S. now shield infants and children from 14 different diseases by age two, saving millions of lives over decades. Families are urged to check with healthcare providers to ensure children’s vaccines are up to date.

Health Department & First Choice Healthcare officials note, “It’s easy to think of these diseases as a thing of the past. But the truth is they still exist.  Children in the United States can, and do, still get some of these diseases.”

Area residents are reminded that immunizations are available at First Choice Healthcare Clinics in Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon. Clinics are offering vaccinations by appointment, helping families stay protected against preventable diseases. Community members seeking additional information on the immunization program can call their nearest clinic—Kewanee at 309-852-5272 or Toulon at 309-852-3115. More details, including clinic hours and resources, can be found on the Health Department’s website at www.henrystarkhealth.com. Updates are also posted on their social media pages—search for Henry and Stark County Health Departments on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Stay healthy and informed this season.
