Illinois Valley Community College Celebrates 60th Commencement with Over 200 Graduates on May 16, 2026

Illinois Valley Community College is set to mark its 60th Annual Commencement at 12:30 PM on Saturday, May 16th, in the gymnasium, where over 200 graduates will be recognized. Zulma Guzman, an IVCC alum and assistant vice president at Bank of America, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address. Her family’s restaurant inspired her career in La Salle, and she’s known for empowering women entrepreneurs. Attendees will also hear from student trustees and IVCC President Dr. Tracy Morris, as well as a reading of the Paul Simon Contest-winning essay by McKinzie Tarbox. The event can be watched via live stream at “IVCC Commencement Live Stream”. Additional recognition events for nursing, dental, paramedic, and adult education graduates are scheduled throughout the coming weeks.

  • The registered nurse pinning ceremony will precede the commencement ceremony at 10 AM on May 16.
  • The Adult Education recognition ceremony will be held at 6 PM on May 20.
  • The licensed practical nursing pinning ceremony will take place at 5:30 PM on July 2.
  • The dental assisting pinning will be held at 5:30 PM on July 23.
  • The paramedic graduation ceremony will take place at 6:30 PM on July 23.
  • Dental hygiene students, who complete their program in the winter, will receive their white coats during a ceremony at 5:30 PM on December 10.
