Kewanee, IL — May 1, 2026 — Regional Media News is bringing live, local mornings back to the Tri-Counties with the debut of a brand-new show, Wake Up Tri-Counties, coming to WKEI 1450 AM & 102.1 FM beginning May 26, 2026.
Wake Up Tri-Counties will air weekday mornings from 6:30–9:00 AM, delivering a fresh, engaging start to the day for listeners across the region, featuring local news, community updates, interviews, weather, and conversation that reflects the heartbeat of the Tri-Counties area. The show is designed to inform, connect, and energize audiences each morning with content that matters most to the communities WKEI serves.
Ken Peel brings more than 40 years of broadcasting experience to the microphone. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for authentic storytelling, strong listener connection, and versatile on-air talent. His background includes hosting live shows, interviewing guests, and contributing thoughtful commentary across multiple formats.
