Kewanee FFA Chapter members shine at Section Banquet with top honors and leadership roles
The Kewanee FFA chapter achieved remarkable success at the Section 3 Banquet on May 7, 2026, earning top honors and leadership roles. Kelsey Scott was elected as Section 3 President, joining an exclusive group of 25 in Illinois, while Summer Simmons was chosen as Section 3 Historian. Advisors praised the dedication required for these achievements. In the Ag Communications Photography Contest, Kewanee students captured first place in several categories, including FFA Jackets Best and Ag Ed at Its Finest. The chapter also earned second place in the Scrapbook Competition, showcasing creativity and commitment. Kewanee continues to set high standards in agricultural education and student leadership.
“These positions are not easily earned,” said Kewanee FFA advisors. “They require tremendous dedication, preparation, leadership, and courage. We are incredibly proud of Kelsey and Summer for the way they represented Kewanee throughout the entire process.”
Kewanee FFA members demonstrated outstanding leadership and creativity during the recent Section 3 events. Candidates for the officer team underwent rigorous preparation, including interviews, speeches, and engaging in delegate voting. Kewanee students excelled across multiple contests: Aiden Gros took first in FFA Jackets Best, Katy Carton led in Animals in Ag, and the Janey brothers swept the FFA Magical Moments category, with Jonah placing first and Jaxon second. Tripp Rieker topped Ag Ed at Its Finest, and Kewanee FFA’s scrapbook entry earned second place. The district extends congratulations for upholding a tradition of service, character, and agricultural excellence.
“These accomplishments represent far more than awards,” advisors shared. “They reflect the countless hours our students spend learning, growing, serving others, building friendships, and creating meaningful experiences through FFA.”
