Galva man arrested on possession of child sexual abuse material charges following joint investigation by Galva Police and Homeland Security Investigations

Federal agents in Galva caused a stir this morning, but Homeland Security was only in Galva to execute a search warrant in the 400 block of NE 1st Street. On Thursday, May 14, 2026, Dalton J. Leverette, 26, was taken into custody by the Galva Police Department following a collaborative investigation with Homeland Security Investigations. Leverette is facing serious charges, including possession of child sexual abuse material and the non-consensual dissemination of explicit content. Authorities report that he is currently held in the Henry County Jail as he awaits official charges from the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office and his initial appearance in court. Law enforcement emphasizes that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges have not been ruled out. Community members are encouraged to report any information to local authorities as the case develops.

The Galva Police Department was assisted by Homeland Security Investigations, Moline Police, Kewanee Police, Henry County Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary, the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Forensic Division.
