Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 6 th Street for a suspicious activity complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 2 nd Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be an accidental mis dial.
May 19
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. Officer checked the area, but was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer met with a resident on Swank Street to discuss a city ordinance violation they had received.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 1 st Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog was located and returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 3 rd Ave to remove an unwanted subject.
May 20
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for a complaint involving a property line dispute.
Officer, along with the ambulance, were dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a medical emergency involving an unconscious pedestrian. They were transported to a local hospital.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of North Exchange Street for a civil stand by to retrieve property.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street to remove an unruly customer. The subject was removed and also served a written banning notice.
Officer was dispatched to Route 17 south of town after a motorist struck something in the roadway. A deer was possibly struck by an unknown vehicle and then struck again by this motorist. No injuries were reported.
May 21
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street for a loose pitbull complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 2 nd Ave to take possession of counterfeit currency that was brought in.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Street to complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1 st Street to speak to a resident who had located a stray cat.
May 22
While patrolling, officer located a motorist that appeared to be lost. Officer spoke to the subject and gave him directions to get back to interstate 80.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 2 nd Ave to check the welfare of a subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street for a complaint involving an abandoned vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 3 rd Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a complaint involving a subject causing a disturbance and hitting concrete with a large hand tool. Marks were located on the concrete, but no actual damage was documented.
May 23
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 7 th Street for a complaint involving a resident bitten by a stray cat. Very minor injury was observed / reported.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of North Center Ave for a water leak. The Galva Water Dept was contacted and advised.
Officer was dispatched to the Wiley Park area for a loose pitbull complaint. The dog was located and returned home. As the result, Jessica Fletcher, 34, Galva, was issued administrative warning tickets (AWTs) for allowing a dog to run at large and failure to obtain rabies inoculation.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NE 2 nd Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
May 24
While patrolling, officer saw a train coming to a stop and ultimately blocking every Galva crossing. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 3 rd Ave for a possible attempted burglary. Officer checked the area, but did not locate anyone. No entry was made to residence.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to conduct a low speed vehicle inspection.
While patrolling, officer located a motorist in the 100 block of SE 4 th Ave that was having vehicle problems. Officer was able to assist.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 3 rd Ave for a complaint involving either gunshots or fireworks being heard. Officer checked the entire area, but did not locate anything unusual.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 10 th Street for a low speed vehicle inspection.
