Kewanee Police Investigating Shooting in 200 Block of North Boss Street

Kewanee Police responded Monday afternoon to a report of a male with a gunshot wound in the 200 block of North Boss Street around 1:30 PM. Officers acted quickly, obtaining suspect and vehicle details. A felony traffic stop followed in the 2000 block of Kentville Road, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The victim was transported to OSF Saint Luke Medical Center and the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time. According to the release, “While the full extent of the victim’s injuries is not known at this time, fire department personnel advised that the injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.”

The suspect is set to be transferred to the Henry County Jail, with formal charges pending review. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office assisted, and the investigation remains active.

The Kewanee Police Department is conducting a shooting investigation in the 200 block of North Boss Street. The roadway remains closed as of 4:30 PM. Stay tuned for updates.
